The CASIS National Design Challenge (NDC) Pilot Program will initially be implemented in the Houston, TX area. Three candidate schools have been chosen to design research experiments to fly on the
International Space Station (ISS) U.S. National Laboratory. CASIS Education staff, Infinity Aerospace, Spark Fun Electronics and NanoRacks, will work closely with the schools and selected teachers to assist in experimental design and payload integration by providing resources, professional development and technical support. Each school, assisted by a CASIS Professional Development Mentor, will develop a flight experiment and scale it to fit inside the Infinity Aerospace ArduLab. NanoRacks will provide payload integration services to ensure that each experiment is ready to fly to the ISS U.S. National Laboratory.
